Atlantis

Toy Review:

Discover the lost world of Atlantis... by building it! LEGO's new Atlantis line features a variety of building sets that revolve around a team of underwater explorers who are searching for the sunken city of Atlantis. The sets involve models of futuristic submarines, giant sea monsters, and ancient ruin sites. This is the latest of the narrative-driven theme sets that LEGO has launched. The half-hour movie debuted on the Cartoon Network, and with an interactive Atlantis website at LEGO.com and themed building sets, there's plenty of ways for kids to immerse themselves in the action-packed and rich LEGO Atlantis story.

Most of the building sets, including Monster Crab Clash, Guardian of the Deep, Seabed Scavenger, Gateway of the Squid, and Neptune Carrier, involve the underwater explorers retrieving Atlantis treasure keys from the keys' sea monster guardians. There are five colored keys to find and collect-orange, blue, red, green, and yellow-one in each building set.

There are so many building sets-at a variety of price points-in the Atlantis line that will engage kids in creative, imaginative and adventurous play.

Automoblox

Toy Review:

Dream. Build. Drive. That's the tagline for Automoblox, the award-winning line of modular wooden vehicles. This is one of the first truly innovative products in the vehicles category. With the Automoblox sets, kids are encouraged to build cars and trucks of their own design. Each car features the character and heirloom charm of a classic wooden toy (which parents and grandparents will appreciate), fused with an updated modern design to offer a patented building block design system that inspires kids to express their own sense of creativity and style. Constructed from European beechwood, the cars' colorful parts are durable enough to withstand the rough and tumble play of adventurous young designers. These are toys that can be played with for hours and will last for years! With interchangeable components for all car models, the possibilities for design are as endless as a child's imagination!

Three new mini sets include the C9-R Mini White/Red, the S9-R Mini Blue/Silver, and the C9-P Pink Mini. The complete line is made up of nine full-size cars, three full-size R-Series cars, nine mini cars, and two mini three-car sets.

The quality and versatility of these sets are impressive. We first found them overseas, and we're glad to see them being introduced in the U.S. Initial reactions from kids have been very strong, and while they may seem a bit expensive compared to other cars on the market, they are more versatile and certainly are built to last. Don't be s...
