Monopoly: Revolution Edition
Toy Review:Get ready for the Monopoly game of the future! After 75 years, Hasbro is amping up the traditional gameplay experience by revolutionizing elements of the classic game. Monopoly: Revolution Edition is made up of a modern, round game board and an electronic game pod that acts as an electronic banker (cards replace cash) and features exciting song clips and sound effects. So now if you hear the sound of the jail door closing, you know what to do! It also includes a great mix of hit songs from the past five decades that bring the game to life. The object of the game is to circle around the game board to become the wealthiest player by buying, trading, and renting classic Atlantic City properties. The last player left standing without going bankrupt is the winner. The pricing is updated, so when you pass go, you now receive $2 million! Chance cards are all in the electronic game pod and players can choose to take a Chance card or make other players take the risk. This updated version looks great and is an exciting new way to enjoy Monopoly. The game is for two to six players. Manufacturer: Brand: Age Recommendation: MSRP: Intro Year: |

Scene It? Box Office Smash
Think you know movies? Prove it with the new game from Scene It?!What It IsDid you know that Scene It?, the DVD board game, also has a line of Xbox 360 editions available? It’s true! The first Xbox 360 edition was 2007’s Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action. Scene It? Box Office Smash is the latest game for the Xbox 360 and features new questions, more high-definition (HD) movie clips and several new puzzle styles. The game allows up to four people or teams to compete in a contest that tests your movie trivia knowledge through a variety of puzzles and questions. Why It’s FunScene It? Box Office Smash is fun because the broad spectrum of movies (such as Flushed Away, Juno, The Bourne Ultimatum, SinCity) that the challenges are based on ensure that players with varying film interests, likes, and experiences can enjoy playing the game together. Additionally, the game can be played by up to four people or teams, which makes it great for groups of any size to take part in. This game is more than just trivia questions. There are also several entirely new puzzle challenges such as Pixel Flix, where players try to name the film after watching an old-school, 8-bit-style animation of a famous scene. Another challenge, Celebrity Ties, asks players to link together a series of clues to solve the answer ala six degrees of separation style. Who’s Going To Love ItThis is a great party game and will be enjoyed most when played by groups of people. Like many board games, as few as two people can play (there is also a one-person vs. computer option) but the more people playing, the more fun the game will be. Thanks to the wide film selection mentioned above, people with many different favorite movie categories can play this game, however, chances are good that a person who rarely watches any movies at all is not going to have fun playing Scene It? Box Office Smash. What To Be Aware OfThe game is sold with four wireless controllers created specifically for the Scene It? Xbox games. You can also buy the game alone if you already own the controllers. People can challenge each other around the world using the Xbox Live online function. One complaint many people have about the Scene It? DVD games is the slow load time between scenes and during scoring. The Xbox 360 games remove that lag with instant scoring and fast load times, which can't be achieved on a... |

Taboo
Toy Review:This game can be played with four people, but it's even more fun with 6 people, so get a gang together and get playing. You draw a card and have to get someone to say the word on the card without saying any of the Taboo words, which are also on the card. So if the word on the card is Baseball, you need to get your teammates to say baseball, but you can't use "pitcher," "hitter," "pastime," "sport" or "game," as any of your clues. "Jeter," "Pujols," "Dodger," or "Fenway," however, would be good clues. You then have to see how many cards you can get right before the timer runs out. And, the best part is someone from the other team watches over your shoulder with "the buzzer" if you accidentally use a word not permitted. There's no board here, so you can play anywhere, and it's a fun interactive game where everyone can be relaxed, but you need to be sharp to win. (If you haven't noticed, playing the games is fun, but I like winning also!) Manufacturer: Brand: Age Recommendation: MSRP: Intro Year: |
